Rainy & Romantic
Wedding photographer stockholm
Everyone fears one thing on their wedding day. The rain. And that makes sense. Rain makes everything more complicated, it's annoying and most of all, it can potentially rob you of all those things you might wish for your wedding; like epic sunset photos in your wedding gown, an outdoor ceremony or just an overall magic that sunny days have about them.
But one thing many couples don't realise is how incredibly wonderful the rain can be, helping create one of the most unique moods with its cozy romance...
First Look & Moments of Connection
Arranging a first look before the ceremony is a great way how to steal away a few real minutes when it's just the two of you. The whole day will be about celebrating with friends and family so giving yourselves that silent slow time of quiet connection when you get to take it all in is priceless.
First Look & Wedding Portraits
I met the couple on a rainy Saturday morning at their wedding venue just outside of Uppsala. The plan was to document their first look and then meeting up with all the bridesmaids and groomsmen to have some fun with their wedding portraits. They were all a fun bunch of young people so I didn't want them to boringly pose for the group photos so we played with different scenarios and had some fun with it instead. Despite the rain we brought some lively energy into the shoot which put everyone into right mood before the wedding ceremony.
Real Love. Real You.
After we wrapped up on bridesmaids/groomsmen fun we let everyone drive off to the church and wait for the ceremony start while we walked around the venue and took the photos of the couple. Wedding portraits are usually something that is incredibly stressful because it's rushed. There's never enough time scheduled for this part because it tends to be an afterthought. I didn't want the couple to just go through this part quickly and stressed so we planned for enough of a window (about 1 hour) to have enough space to focus on their wedding photos. I didn't want to put couple into any uncomfortable or boring poses, I wanted to see and document their love for each other and the connection they shared.
At this point it started really pouring down but that didn't discourage them at all! They embraced it all so beautifully, connecting with one another, running around in the rain, giving each other lots of affection. That one hour we spent together before the ceremony was an amazing way how these two really took it all in without the distractions, just embracing the uncontrollable, being present with each other on their wedding day.
Let Them Love You...
After the ceremony it was time for a cake and celebratory drinks when all weddings guests gathered to congratulate the couple and celebrate before part of the wedding party took off for the wedding reception. This part is always so touching to observe and document - the love, the tears, the exchanged whispers of congratulations.

The Big Welcome & Final Goodbye
After we arrived on a beautiful vintage car, the wedding guests have welcomed the couple in the grandiose way, with everyone ready for the evening party and the wedding reception. I documented the last bliss of their happiness shared with the excited friends and family and then it was time to say goodbye.
